 taken from what i tweeted the other day: i feel increasingly feral every time i scroll on twt right now because i've somehow suddenly noticed the PARALLELS of a ship i'm into now vs a ship i've been into since uhhhh 16??

 

 

 

i have a very specific brand of hetship that stays with me: and it's always woman of higher authority and title with very unofficial right-hand with perfect co-worker/teammate synergy being just Some Guy, except akihiko in persona 3 is NOT just some guy he is well-liked and fawned over by his fanclub at school and he IS a loser with terrible social skills but the trust that he and mitsuru have built in each other throughout junior high until we see them in persona 3 where they're supposed to be the perfect embodiment of seniors to you as the main character, the way they're just so uptight and don't know how to have fun AT ALL.. it's all about the emotional baggage and familial trauma and duty and responsibility and goal-oriented personalities. anyway, i truly thouht they were dating when i started playing the game. i LOVE hetships that seem perfect for each other but inherently just can't happen--my fave akimitsu fic were all about r/s studies and never development lmaoooo i don't care about development unless it's like...post-canon or something. and even then, the flavour of emotional repression has to be RIFE throughout the entire thing. also i loved them because 1) supposed opposites in their persona elements and power with ice and elec being each others' weaknesses and i think that's theoretically interesting to me bc their team synergy is soooo good. akihiko's about to  bust a nut riling himself up for a fight?? mitsuru tells him NO. mitsuru weeps over her father's death and who was the only one she let in to be by her immediate side when she was in grief??? just him. they never know how to talk to each other btw. they don't know how to communicate. LOVE THAT FOR THEM.

 

so onto kaeya/jean. first of all idk how this happened. i always thought that genshin impact ships seemed to just really lack so much appeal to me and maybe this doesn't have appeal at all to anyone else bc hello 53 works in the kaeya/jean tag on ao3 (not that ao3 is a good metric of fandom preference and tastes i just need to call out the abysmal dryland i seem to always be in) but also imagine my disappointment when i was told that JEANLUC is the hetship that is serving the masses more like. oh my god/? why why why but also it is very predictable of genshin impact fandom. like is it really surprising that it took me the longest fucking time to really get into the game for its characters and storylines past smashing and hacking things purely for playing the game. when a fandom is so big on stan twitter, i literally just end up being completely lukewarm or disliking 99% of everything i see about it. maybe i'll make another post on why diluc isn't all that but that'll be too tiring i don't have any legit reasons to hate diluc but still have his name muted on my main twitter tline. also childe.

 

back to kaejean: everything about this ship is sooooo appealing to me. this tweet right here from this thread  by twt user moonstadt. it shouldn't make any CENTS that kaeya, an outsider, took on a job that i feel the acting grand master of the knights in mondstadt would not give but she basically entrusted her whole life and the city she's dedicated herself to unto him. slacker validation right there, i think it's so funny that amber questions whether kaeya is doin his job right but every time i get the mental image of him just sitting there tits out and bent poring over paperwork in jean's chair while she's out doing her acting grand master duties I FEEL CRAZY... they'll never look twice at each other in that way because romance is non-existent to them. idc that kaeya is the flirty, beautiful cavalry captain with romantic Talent names given to him in-game, loyalty >>>>>>>>>>>>>> romance in this case. Knowing the other is romantic in this case too. i think kaeya understands jean better than anyone else besides lisa among the knights, possibly better than barbs. throwing a celebratory party for her of mere gratitude and appreciation (no occasion other than the fact that she worked herself sick lmaooo so kaeya saw her recovery as the perfect opportunity to celebrate her existence ig) and keeping it under wraps that it was his idea was so unnecessary but he gets that it would have been the only way to do it because jean does not know what fun is. i probably make jean sound very boring to non-genshiners. and she might actually be, but i can't help it i like boring and very normal people. i want her so bad in my genshin party too, still waiting to pull her.
